Meet Our Guest Speaker!

Dr. Kayon Morgan

Vice President for Inclusive Excellence and Belonging at the University of Hartford

Dr. K. Kayon Morgan is a distinguished scholar, transformative educator, and visionary leader whose impact resonates throughout the academic landscape. She is a first-generation trailblazer for all degrees obtained and credits her accomplishments to her faith and standing on the shoulders of her family and many others along her journey.

Dr. Morgan earned her PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with cognates in research methodology from the University of Denver in 2017 and commendably book end her studies earning the prestigious Outstanding Dissertation of the Year award in 2018 from the American Educational Research Association - Family, School, and Community Partnerships Special Interest Group (AERA FSCP SIG).With more than 25 years of experience as an education professional spanning academic support, management, program coordination, and faculty roles in higher education, Dr. Morgan brings exceptional depth to her work. Her academic trajectory has been marked by remarkable achievement as demonstrated in earning tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in spring 2025 in less time than the typical six to seven-year timeline.
